Ashleigh gives credit to the business success to the manager-as-coach leadership style, which differs from the traditional command and control leadership seen in manufacturing. In her new book, "Leading with Grit and Grace," she describes how they improved things at Onex, Inc., a 50-year-old family-owned manufacturing company.
Ashleigh is helping Onex thrive in the OEM Combustion and Refractory Services ecosystem through mergers and acquisitions while retaining its identity as a manufacturing organization and family cohesion.

Once Daniel proved the opportunity and began growing his business, he went about putting the systems and people in place to expand geographically to scale the business. We talk to Daniel about the home services industry, growing his home services business, recruiting talent, and making scalable systems used across locations.

In this, The Faces of Business, our guest, Michael Houlihan, Founder, Barefoot Wines & Business Audio Theatre, shares stories from building one of the largest wine brands in North America, selling his business, and his latest endeavor, The Business Audio Theatre where he is shining a light on founders by telling their story through audio.
Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey founded a startup wine business in 1985 focused on producing an approachable wine at an affordable price point. The company used grit, determination, and listening to the customer to launch a brand for the people. They used cause-based marketing to continue expanding the business and help worthy causes in a win-win approach to making a difference in the world. Ultimately in 2005 Michael and Bonnie sold the Barefoot brand to E&J Gallo.

Mark leads the efforts at Tech for Troops helping veterans and their children by gifting them free computers that allow them to connect with potential employers and develop essential computer skills. They hire veterans in the business and provide technical training for veterans and their families. Tech for Troops also helps the environment by keeping usable computers out of the landfill and responsibly recycling unusable electronics in an environmentally friendly manner.
We will learn how Mark and the others at Tech for Troops are giving veterans the electronic tools and training they need to find work in the private sector.
